Nestled within the tranquil landscape beside the Tejo River, with the imposing Castelo de Belver providing a stunning backdrop, lies my favorite walking trail – the PR1 Arribas do Tejo. This pathway is my little secret, one that I’m now sharing exclusively with you.

The starting point of our journey is the picturesque Largo Luís de Camões in Belver, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable experience. The trail itself is circular, spanning 16.2 kilometers, and while it’s rated as medium difficulty, the beauty and serenity of the path make every step worth it. The trek is expected to take around 4 hours and 30 minutes, but time seems to stand still here amidst nature.

Equipped with a map and GPS support for guidance, we venture through this path that weaves its way intimately alongside the Tejo River, within the breathtaking segment of the Tejo Valley. The route has been thoughtfully designed, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings, making for a peaceful and soothing escapade.

The elevation varies between 188 meters and 39 meters, with a total elevation gain of 654 meters throughout the hike. This gentle undulation adds an element of challenge, yet it remains accessible and enjoyable.
